Craft Tom Colicchio´s Craft in New York City received the James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant nationwide in 2002, and five years later brought Craft across the country to join the other "top chefs" in Los Angeles. This is the restaurant that inspired me to rethink my position on American cuisine. From the moment I tasted his braised brussel sprouts and slow-cooked beef short ribs, Tom Colicchio had me convinced that so much had been overlooked in this category. The restaurant has a casual, yet elegant feel, and the service is top notch, but the food will transport you to a time when families used to sit around the table on Sunday afternoon and share the stories of their day. Another reason why I am such a big fan of Tom is that he creates sustainable restaurant concepts that deliver his vision whether he is there or not. As I have said before, great chefs know how to develop great sous chefs, and Tom is obviously both a great chef and a great teacher. I highly recommend this restaurant to my foodie friends.
