La Tour is a contemporary French restaurant that has been voted the best restaurant in Vail since 2006 by the Vail Daily Readers Poll.  Utilizing the best organic, natural and sustainable products available, La Tour is known as the restaurant "Where the chefs eat."

I know this may sound like blasphemy, but some of the best contemporary French food that I have experienced has been outside of Paris. I hypothecate that the fierce competition among Parisian contemporary restaurants has led them to a place where the French influence in their cooking style becomes totally obscured. La Tour is a perfect example of how someone can produce fantastic contemporary French food, without losing its French soul.

When owner-chef Paul Ferzacca opened La Tour in 1998, it was the first truly fine dining establishment in Vail. Using only the freshest ingredients, the menu is constantly changing; but the one item that is always available is their Dover sole meunière. I would go so far as to say that Chef Pauls version is among the best we have ever tasted. I also like the unique format of the menu that is well balanced between appetizers and entrees with a beautiful selection of cheeses in between. For wine lovers, you have six on-staff certified members of the Court of Master Sommeliers to recommend a wine from the cellar, which contains over 350 selections.

The service is exemplary, and the décor and setting of the restaurant perfectly compliments the European flavor of the dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to foodies.
