Milts Stop and Eat Milt´s was first opened in September of 1954, by Milt Galbraith. Not a lot has changed since. The vinyl-topped stools and the patterned Formica counter which overlooks the open grill and kitchen are all original. Despite its age, the restaurant remains neat and inviting, illuminated by large windows on three sides of the small building. Milt´s is known for its delicious burgers, homemade fries, and refreshing shakes and malts.

Milt and his wife Audrey ran ´Milt´s´ for 24 years. Milt and Audrey are in their 80´s now and lives up the street. They like to play golf, take walks, and still periodically visit Milt´s. John Steinbrenner bought Milt´s in 1978. John ran Milt´s for 26 years. John is known for measuring the portions to the exact size to keep prices low. He would even tear a fry in half to make certain the portion size was exact! John also periodically visits Milt´s. There was a third owner by the name of Virginia, who ran Milt´s for about 9 months. She sold Milt´s to Rex Tanner. Rex´s along with his wife Penny, daughter Asia, and son in law Daniel ran it for 2 years. In July of 2007 Milt´s was purchased by the current owners; Danelle Ballengee and BC Laprade. BC has extensive experience as a chef, having worked in several ski resort towns as the executive chef and also previously owned a café in Leadville, Colorado. BC feels very comfortable behind the grill he loves the work and getting to know the guests that frequent Milts. He often surprises us with exciting ´specials´. Danelle used to be a professional endurance athlete, but a training injury resulting from a 60 foot fall left her unable to compete. So she decided to take a try at the restaurant industry and has enjoyed it very much so far.
Milt´s is a local´s favorite because of its quality food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. Locals and tourist alike return to Milt´s—sometimes on a daily basis!

The Chili Cheeseburger is Milt´s Stop & Eat most famous item on the menu. The chili recipe is the same recipe that Milt made famous in 1954. The food at Milt´s is not ´fast food´. The ingredients are fresh and prepared to order. Milt´s uses locally processed, freshly ground beef hamburger and buffalo. Patties are hand crafted daily. The fries are peeled and cut daily from fresh, whole potatoes. All the vegetables are fresh. The chicken burgers are made from the breast of naturally raised chickens. Milt´s serves a variety of classic diner sandwiches. There is nothing better than a Milt´s Malt on a hot day.

Milt´s is located at the corner of 400 East and Millcreek Drive. From Main Street, head East 4 blocks to 400 East, and you will find Milts 3 blocks South of Center Street. It´s easy to find Milt´s if you follow the signs to the world famous ´Slickrock´ trail. Milt´s is on the way.
