There are hundreds of great Italian restaurants in and about Rome, but there is only one that I consistently recommend to my foodie friends. In fact, if you are only in Rome for one day, this is the only place you should go. Why? because it is the quintessential family-style Italian restaurant where the food is great, the wine never stops pouring, and you don´t even need a menu. The family speaks very limited english, but they communicate just fine by brining wave after wave of plates of delicious home-style dishes to your table. Before going, I highly recommend you read my article on this website about "Dining Italian Style." In order to fully appreciate this gem of a restaurant, you need to understand how the Italians dine and the order by which they do it. Do not come here with the American mentality of "eat and run." This is a true dining experience meant to be shared with friends and loved ones where you take your time and share each dish as it comes out. Thursday - June 7, 2012 |
